Now, we know that you’ve probably had at least one or two of the most famous types of biryani — such as Bombay biryani, Hyderabadi biryani, Sindhi biryani, Calcutta biryani, Lucknowi biryani, kachay gosht [raw meat] ki biryani, tikka biryani, fish biryani, shawarma biryani, Kashmiri biryani, and dum pukht biryani, among others — but world’s most expensive biryani seems to be taking the dish to the next
Dubbed ‘The Royal Gold Biryani’, the world’s most expensive, gold garnished biryani offered in Dubai is prepared by the Bombay Borough UAE and has been topped with 23-karat edible gold.

Small potatoes, mint leaves, boiled eggs, pomegranate seeds, roasted cashews, and fried onions are added to it to bring out a unique flavour. This is followed by a variety of grilled meats, such as skewered kebabs made from rams, spare ribs of lambs from Rajput chicken kebab, old Delhi, Mughlai koftas, and malai [creamy] chicken roast.
‘The Royal Gold Biryani’ is served with exquisite curries, sauces, and raita, as well as nihari, Jodhpuri curry, specialty almond sauce mixed with raita made from pomegranate seeds, and edible gold leaves.
According to Bombay Borough UAE’s IG page, ‘The Royal Gold Biryani’ is priced at AED1,000 or PKR43,300 which is equivalent to about INR19,707. Not only that but it’s also served in a large gold plate and is available at the (DIFC) Dubai International Financial Centre.
