AstraZeneca Vaccine Update

Dr. Sultan argued that people over the age of 60 should not be vaccinated with the Sinofarm vaccine and said they would be vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, which will arrive in Pakistan later this month.

Speaking at length about vaccines suitable for the elderly, a senior health official said Russia’s Sputnik vaccine and another Chinese vaccine, Canino, whose trial had recently been completed in Pakistan, could also be effective.

Some top infectious diseases experts have confirmed that the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm was not recommended for people over 60 years of age and for people under 18y due to a lack of safety and performance information for the elderly.
