Pakistan Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced that Esports will soon take the place of mainstream sport. The discussion is underway, while a memorandum has been signed.
He recently Tweeted:
MEMORANDUM HAS BEEN SIGNED BETWEEN PAKISTAN SCIENCE FOUNDATION AND PAKISTAN SPORTS BOARD AFTER WHICH E-SPORTS WILL GET OFFICIAL SPORTS STATUS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GAMES, THEN GET READY, NEW OPPORTUNITIES ARE WAITING FOR YOU.–Ch Fawad Hussain
The announcement comes following Fawad Chaudhry’s earlier interview with Waqar Zaka, where the minister promised to facilitate investors and players in their ESports projects, to be part of the multi-billion dollar industry.
Fawad Chaudhry’s efforts to bring eSports to the fore could and to open the door to provide thousands of opportunities for Pakistani esports professionals. Be ready before the first tournament.
Pakistan’s up-and-coming ESports ecosystem shines with skilled players and esports insights. However, there is no umbrella in this country that can unite esports enthusiasts. At present, Pakistan’s first esports academy is the only training institution that provides counseling to young people.
